Denver, Colorado is not the first place that comes to mind when thinking about Hip-Hop from the west. Let’s be real, it probably isn’t the second, third, fourth or fifth place you think of either.
All of that is irrelevant.
I’ve been a fan of music long enough to know that there are gifted individuals all over the world. Denver is no exception. If you’re a fan of Hip-Hop or rap in general you may have heard the name Trev Rich pop up over the last couple of years. Trev hails from The Centennial State and has been on fire. Recently Trev has worked extensively with Joe Budden as well as signing a deal with Birdman and Cash Money Records. However, Trev isn’t the only one making noise out of Colorado. A collaborator of Trev Rich and fellow Denver native AP is making waves of his own right now.

Though his following isn’t as big as the aforementioned, that will be changing soon, and fast. Due to his likability and his willingness to work with the other artists coming from his city, AP has managed to stay on the minds and lips of most everyone interested in the Denver Hip-Hop scene. The other thing that sets AP apart from his peers is his pure rapping ability. This guy is a rapper’s rapper. His ability to select beats and craft hooks that will lure you in and follow that up with verses that potent is a rare ability. That’s something that you usually see in the biggest of stars and I see no reason AP can’t be that big as well.
A few months ago AP dropped his much-anticipated project, 3 AM. It has been one of the most talked about recent releases in Denver. The 16 track drop showcases AP has a rapper and has only one feature on the entire project.

Denver seems to be a city on the verge of making a huge splash. Reminiscent of the way Houston did a decade ago and Atlanta a decade before that. With people like AP and Trev leading the pack Denver is in great hands. Not only are they two of the most talented guys in the city, but their openness to help develop the scene as a whole is what will put the Colorado city on the map indefinitely.
