Houston is known for breeding some of the hottest talent in hip-hop and music as a whole. From Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion to Travis Scott, Scarface, local cult rap legends like Slim Thug and Big Moe, and so much more. There’s a dense history of hip-hop artistry coming out of this southern city, and there’s tons more following close behind. One of those artists following closely is 20-year-old rapper Aaron May.
Taking influence from rappers like J. Cole, Joey Bada$$, and Nas, Aaron May offers an honest and steady flow mixed with heavy bars and contagious hooks. In 2018, at just age sixteen, Aaron May released his first official single, “Ride“, putting him on the map in Houston. He’s only gone up from his initial buzz, now boasting almost two million monthly listeners on Spotify. He released his debut album “CHASE” in 2019 and a few singles in 2020. He hasn’t slowed down since.

So far this year, Aaron May has released two singles, “FEEL LIKE” and “No Excuses (Freestyle).” Both of these offer a more vulnerable and introspective approach than past music. “FEEL LIKE” is the perfect track to wind down your night with, while the freestyle offers a hype track perfect for daytime seshes with your homies.

Not only does he rap, he’s also a producer. Aaron produces for himself and other various artists. With a work ethic and infectious flow like his, there’s no doubt Aaron May will be the next national name out of the Houston hip-hop scene.
