Aaron Cohen just released his new album See Red. Although he is no stranger to releasing music that reaches thousands, this is his first LP. In my opinion, this collection of songs is his best effort to date. He channels inner feelings towards the industry and executives into a cohesive body of work.
The Seattle raised artist lived in New York for more than a few years. You should get very acquainted with that by the second record on the tracklist. Sonically, Cohen finds his own lane. East Coast meets Seattle blended with commercial melodies and a touch of ignorance. The artist connects distorted bass and chants alongside lyrical substance and cadences that Drake would steal.
While Cohen has focused on his sound, he doesn’t overlook paying homage to the legends.
The best part of this project lies in consistency. Having a tight-knit sound, it really no surprise that the album is a derivative of a tight creative circle. Limited production credits including Kemal, DJ Hoppa, Brakebill, and Claev. Keeping the features just as consistent as the production resources, Bodega Bamz, Godbodywayi, and Jarren Benton all make appearances over the 12 songs.
Do not sleep on this one.
