Cannabis-Infused Gravy Recipe for Christmas

One of the best parts of Christmas is the feast of delicious and comforting home-cooked food that is enjoyed surrounded by loved ones. For cannabis lovers, Christmas dinner may mean smoking before dinner or sipping on a cannabis-infused drink. However, for the stoners looking for a way to combine the delicious food with an elevated weed experience, look no further than this cannabis-infused gravy recipe.

To infuse the gravy, like any edible recipe, we will simply replace the amount of fat or butter with cannabis butter or a cannabis-infused equivalent. One great option for those who don’t have time to make cannabutter from scratch is to use Rick Simpson Oil, otherwise known as RSO.

RSO is a cannabis concentrate with many different medicinal benefits. If you’re located in Washington state, then we recommend you head to Local Roots to pick up RSO. By using RSO, you can enjoy the ease of knowing exactly how much cannabis is in your gravy.

Cooking Process

Step 1

The first step of making your cannabis-infused gravy is to heat oil on a pan and place the giblets, neck, and onion. Sauté until fragrant for about 10 minutes. Reduce heat and cover the pan tightly. Cook for about 20 minutes until juices release.

Step 2

Add your chicken broth to the pan, along with any additional de-fatted turkey stock or drippings from roasting your bird to make up to 1 ½ quart.

Step 3

Next, add in your herbs – fresh or dried. Let the ingredients simmer until it gets flavorful.

Pro tip: the longer the simmer the richer the flavor. This process can be started a day ahead if you want your cannabis-infused gravy to really shine.

Step 4

Pour the broth through a strainer into a bowl until you have about 5 cups.

Step 5

Heat the infused butter, RSO, or CBD over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour vigorously, then whisk in the hot strained broth. Heat and simmer for 30 minutes until thickened.

Step 6

Have fun with your cooking. Throw in your seasonings and adjust to however you like it. Serve over your favorite mashed potato or turkey dish and enjoy the delicious taste and relaxing effects of your cannabis-infused gravy.
