In the Pacific Northwest, Ariana Deboo is well-known for being featured throughout numerous artists’ songs. However, what she doesn’t get enough recognition for is her own original music. Along with her band, Deboo performed her track “Light” for the Rain City Relief vinyl compilation. The whole performance radiates a warm energy matching with aesthetic lighting that sends you higher than the moon.
Hearing her voice feels like a cashmere sweater wrapping around you. It’s sweet and soothing, like a fresh cup of tea swirled with honey. The rhythm in “Light” seems to flicker gently in the background like the warm glow of a candle. The jazzy arrangement especially allows Deboo to run about between her upper and lower registers, delivering silky smooth and romantic melodies throughout the song.
Over the past few years, Ariana Deboo released a few singles here and there. The most recent being the frolicking acoustic track, “Summer’s Over,” released in 2020. On November 20th, Deboo will take the stage at Neumos with her band to perform alongside other Rain City Relief artists. Also being featured on the bill are High Pulp, All Star Opera, and Shaina Shepherd. Enjoy her performance of “Light” below.
