Former NBA Star Paul Pierce Promotes Cannabis Brand In Boston

Former NBA Star Paul Pierce Launches Truth Cannabis Brand In Boston

ESPN analyst Paul Pierce was in Boston this past weekend at a dispensary to promote his new cannabis brand  “Truth” with Massachusetts cultivators, The Hub Craft. Truth is Pierce’s nickname that he was known for during his reign as a Boston Celtic. During the visit, Pierce told fans and dispensary customers that Truth products are as reliable as he was gearing up for a buzzer-beater on the court.

The former NBA star announced earlier this year that he would be launching Truth in Boston, Massachusetts. Massachusetts just legalized recreational cannabis use in 2018. His new product line includes high-quality flower. The Truth brand will also provide edibles, topicals, and concentrates. Pierce is hoping to hit Boston dispensaries by next year.

Paul Pierce and Cannabis

Paul Pierce became a cannabis advocate after the September 2000 stabbing he endured at a Boston nightclub. Pierce said that cannabis had saved his life while facing near-death and psychological trauma from the attack. His physical wounds healed rather quickly. However, the former Celtic was still fighting paranoia, anxiety, depression, and insomnia after the assault. Furthermore, he talked about how ineffective the prescribed pharmaceuticals were and how they inflicted many negative side effects.

When he retired back in 2017, Pierce started working for ESPN as a basketball analyst. However, he found himself canned by ESPN after his Instagram post of him smoking cannabis with women twerking in the background. He shared his positive attitude with the world via an Instagram post the next day.

Pierce joins other athletes that joined the cannabis industry after they retired like Allen Iverson and Calvin Johnson. Pierce is already involved in the cannabis industry with his California-based cultivation and processing business, Western Green Mamba, for the last few years. With help from The Hub Craft, Pierce plans on bringing an all-natural line of Truth products.
