Cannabis has been medically legal in Florida since 2014, but it wasn’t until August 2020 that edible marijuana became legal in the state. With the demand knowingly high and the pandemic in full force, dispensaries rushed to be the first few to offer edible products. One dispensary that was quicker to the chase than most is Surterra, which also happens to be the second largest dispensary in the state with 39 locations. Continue reading to learn more about one of their most popular edible products, Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews.
Surterra Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews Product Feature
When deciding which edibles to try first in Florida, Surterra’s Coral Reefer Fruit Chews is a great start. Each gummy contains 5mg of THC, which is half the amount of most other gummies on the market in the state, such as Wana Soft Chews from Müv. This makes it a great first edible for less experienced users, especially due to the ease of splitting it if preferred. The package contains 20 gummies, which equals 100mg of THC total.
The package nor Surterra’s website states whether the Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews are sativa, hybrid, or indica. But based off of the known effects of edibles, you may want to save this treat for later in the day.
While some edibles are deemed okay in the heat, like Wana’s Soft Chews, Surterra advises the Coral Reefer Fruit Chews be stored in a cool and dry place. This could be the refrigerator, but the temperature of your house should also suffice.
Surterra Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews Review
As a Florida MMJ patient, Surterra’s edibles were ones I was certainly looking forward to trying after being satisfied with many of their other products. When arriving at the dispensary I still hadn’t made up my mind on which flavor I was going to buy. With the advice of one their trusty budtenders I went with the Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews, instead of Mixed Berry.
Though the normal price is $30, I enjoyed 30% off with a random sale that was going on. Surterra very often has great, and even better, sales like this, so make sure to subscribe to their email list to stay updated. You may even find these gummies half off or BOGO one day.
Flavor and Texture
With the first bite of the Tangerine Chews from Surterra I noticed a much different texture than the Wana Soft Chews, and frankly any other edible I have tried in the past. The gummy is dense and sticky, but surprisingly doesn’t stick to your teeth much. Unlike other gummies, these edibles are not coated in sugar or anything else. But that does not make them any less tasty. In fact, they are full of flavor.
The tangerine flavor is strong and covers the cannabis oil pretty well. The gummy is still noticeably an edible though, with hints of weed flavors peaking through. The strong citrus taste may not be desirable to some, but I know many fellow Floridians will appreciate the beloved tropical flavor. Next time you’re at a Surterra dispensary in Florida, consider trying out the Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews.
