Alpine Vapor’s GMO x Banana Punch #9 is a limited edition 1 gram oil vape cartridge from one of California’s premier cannabis extraction companies. Alpine bills its limited edition oil cartridges as “craft cannabis at its finest.” The purveyor promises pure, sungrown cannabis untainted by fillers and harmful additives for an “exploration in taste outside the norm.”
In this West Coast Weed Tour Review, Respect My Region’s Joey Brabo finds out if Alpine’s limited edition hybrid GMO x Banana Punch #9 vape cartridge provides the Elevated Experience™ it claims.
First Impressions
The glossy, black packaging is appealing and easy to open. Inside, the white ceramic and glass cartridge features nice, chunky holes on the bottom, intended to deliver a nice, strong pull. The cart’s oil has a lovely, raw honey color, and it appears to have a substantial texture without appearing goopy.
Packaging instructions state the cartridge is designed for use with a 510 battery set to the lowest voltage. However, past experience with this battery indicates the lowest voltage setting isn’t powerful enough to get the most out of the cart. That turned out to be the case with this cart as well.
Turning the voltage up a twist warms it up enough to deliver better intake.
The cultivator describes the flavor as a mix of banana, citrus, spiced cream, and rich gas. Descending from a lineage containing Purple Punch, Banana OG, and GMO, you’d expect an aromatic mix of earthy spice, tropical flavors and gas.
With the battery at 2.6v, Alpine Vapor’s GMO x Banana Punch has a light, spicy floral taste accompanied by hints of pine and berry. Turned up a notch, the flavor profile becomes surprisingly different, delivering a more earthy, spicy taste.
Conclusions
While the box is missing some helpful information (like terpene profile, genetics, and strain lineage), the packaging is very appealing. The 510 battery doesn’t do this high-quality cart justice, however. A design tailored toward a classic C Cell might work better.
The oil has a nice, warm color. It features a solid flavor profile of garlic, pine, and sweet berry with creamy sour. Effects include a stoney head high accompanied by an energetic body buzz.
As an overall experience, Alpine Vapor’s GMO x Banana Punch #9 gets a solid 8.75 out of 10. It’s easily recognizable as a pure live resin, sans distillates. And it certainly seems like 100 percent sungrown cannabis. Check out the full review below to watch Brabo’s full review and demo.
