If you follow my strain reviews you’ll notice that I’m no stranger to Gelato. I love the mixture of creamy and gas flavors wrapped into a blunt. Today, I dove into some of the Gelato strain from Lucky Devil Farms. After previously being impressed with their Dolato cut, I figured this was an obvious choice at the shop I bought it from.
The jar on Lucky Devil’s products is great. It’s a basic twist top glass jar but they add a splash of color on their lids with an amazing product window on the top. It stands out on the shelf and provides the perfect view of what you’re about to purchase. Sitting inside the jar, I found two great sized nugs nestled next to a Boveda packet. I know there are mixed reviews about using Boveda, but the nugs held a pretty good texture.
This strain came well recommended from a few shops I trust but the flavor on the 8th I bought wasn’t all the way there for me. When it comes to gelato I want a pungent gassy yet creamy taste to it. This burned a little harsh and lacked the usual notes that I enjoy from the strain. While it did get better with time while smoking, I prefer a few of their other strains over this selection. Their Dolato was hitting, though, so I may need to give it another try.
