V.S.O.P. stands for “very special old press,” a hash making process that doesn’t involve extraction; but rather mechanically separating resin heads from plant material, per softsecrets.com. Once the resin heads are separated with ice water, they are pressed together into a full-melt temple ball of dabbable hash.
TreeHawk used their Sunset Fire strain to press these temple balls. Sunset Fire is a hybrid strain that crosses the legendary Sunset Sherbet with Khyber Mazar Afghan. This strain is a TreeHawk exclusive and one of their most underrated offerings.
V.S.O.P hash needs to be dabbed at incredibly low temperatures. If you time your nail at 1:00 for most dabs, try around 1:20 to 1:25 for this hash. It should melt into an amber-brownish-yellow liquid. If you burn it too hot, it will burn black and chazz your nail.
That being said, the first dab was too hot. The hash melted down to a dark brownish-black color and released a creamy chocolate flavor. The second dab was timed much better, it turned into the correct dark yellow color. Melting this hash at the correct temperature released creamy cherry flavors and a potent heady and energetic high.
This V.S.O.P Sunset Fire ice water hash temple ball is one of the best solventless concentrates I’ve tried to date. The combination of cherry/chocolate flavors and heady effects make it a special treat for your endocannabinoid system.
