Locals Only: Tacoma Rappers Team Up For Welcome To Tacoma Vol.3

Locals Only: Tacoma Rappers Team Up For Welcome To Tacoma Vol.3

This week’s Locals Only showcase covers the release of Welcome To Tacoma Vol. 3, hosted by DJ Don Gee. The mixtape features all Tacoma-based hip-hop artists. Clocking in at 23 tracks long, the mixtape maintains a fiery energy for the entire duration of the project, paired with expansive and exceptional lyricism from start to finish.

Each track features a different artist – and with 23 different artists, it’s incredible how so many musicians can create such a cohesive sound, and maintain a relentless energy throughout the mixtape.

While the instrumentals are definitely fire, the vocal talent is the highlight in this mix. The clear focus throughout the project is on the rap, with many of the artists opting for longer verses instead of putting weight into a chorus or hook. As a result, the talented lyricism and varying rhyme schemes are some of the best aspects to this gem of a project.

Shoutout to the featured artists on Welcome To Tacoma Vol. 3: Nate Tacticz, Nino Carter, SlapBoy Meez, Mr. D.O.G., C’est D.Blanc, OTD, Twista, Smacc Da Trappa, Eazy EQ, Puree Art, Cole Z, Demrick, Julius August, YungDIME, Pyranha Gang, Gator, Younglyfe, Baby, Ysc Calicoe, Square Bizz, Snap, Cashier, Jay 1, Manny Khayne, Biggz, Wavegod Frio, Mustafa, Rell G, FUKKARUDE, Markush, and Hook Heavy.
