Nick Weaver, the starter jacket master himself is back with a brand new EP. Sleep Clinic is a four-track project that Weaver debuted at his co-headling show with New Track City last month at Columbia City Theater.
Weaver has been experimenting with different singing and vocal styles over the last few singles and it seems he’s found a great balance between spitting bars and singing. Weaver showcases his ability to blend his rapping and singing seamlessly throughout this project while painting a vivid picture with his words. He’s at his best in this respect in “Show The Love.” Weaver has a penchant of turning an everyday mundane scene into beautiful poetry— “Morning sun beating on a cappuccino mix, 20-degrees increase with the heart rate, penciled in columns while the mind goes drifting.”
“Envelopes” Feat. The Bad Tenants is the standout track on the album because of deep cut NBA Ron Artest references within well-placed bars and a haunting melodic beat that finger taps your spinal column. Sleep Clinic is a small sample size of Weaver’s best work to date. It’s available wherever you listen to music right now.
