Scribemecca is one of those rappers who has just naturally positioned himself into a constant rotation in my playlists. I got hip to him through his group Badyoshi, with Yodi Mac and DJ Wffls. Now we’re seeing his second solo release of the year, Genz0-Star.

Earlier this year we saw the release of his R&B, soul sample heavy, Yungpatronus. The album has a homeboy vibe. It feels like summer days as a teenager. When you would hang in garages with your friends getting high before their parents got home. Perfect for its summertime release date.
This new album, Genz0-Star, was recorded at the top studio on the other side of the galaxy. The intergalactic album saw production from the celestial Luna G0D, breakfast chef supreme DJ Wffls, and TMLO. Together they created a cooler, darker vibe that’s perfect for these long dark seasons.

The beat sounds like something out of a dystopian universe. Each verse hits on all cylinders and the mix allows them to stand out from the beat. Sometimes I lose the lyrics into the beat, especially with cadences like these guys use.
“Escape Roboworld” (Rig & Banger) Ft. Duranged Pitt
As a daily dabber, this is easily one of my favorite hooks off the album. “Got slabs on deck, low temp for the flavor // never leave the house without my rig and my banger.”
