Cincinnati based rapper Devin Burgess has seen a steady rise with his music in the past few years, and he’s now dropped a new song titled “Bounce Back.” The release is meant to prepare his fans for his upcoming project Trash, which is expected to be released on September 23rd.
On “Bounce Back”, Burgess teams up with KSG who showcases a wide range of moods and sounds throughout the song. The production draws heavily on the “bounce” aspect of the lyrics, with deep kicks and prominent hi-hats heard from start to finish. The lead synth gives the song a darker feel, which in turn creates space for Burgess to demonstrate is many rhyme schemes.
Even though the song is only two minutes long, it showcases Burgess’s precise delivery and flow throughout. The layering of his vocals are especially interesting, as echoing ad-libs are heard quite frequently. As a result, they add greater depth to the overall song.
