3 Books for A Better 2018
My 2018 isn’t going too terribly and I am optimistic about it continuing to be a mediocre year. I want to offer up 3 books you might need in your life to help turn things around.
You Are A Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life. By: Jen Sincero
Don’t have a freakout, but the first book I am suggesting is a self-help book. While most people sneer at the idea or even thought of getting into self-help books, I don’t. While I was skeptical myself at first it was really helpful. Sometimes just getting another person’s perspective on a topic or life, in general, can really change things around. I personally am going to use You Are A Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life, as a daily guide and bible to dealing with some of my own personal self-esteem issues. I recommend this book to anyone who really wants to be happier in their life.
A number one, New York Times Bestseller was chalk full of fabulous quotes that really go quite smashingly with the other all theme and had some great advice on how and why you should be making the changes you want in life. Very motivational read for anyone needing a good pep talk.
You Can Read Anyone – Never be Fooled, liked to, or taken advantage of again. By: David J. Lieberman, PH.D.
Another classified self-help book is by a really popular PH.D. who has a show based off of his career; David J. Lieberman PHD. You can Read Anyone is also a New York Times Best Seller that is based on a psychologically based system used by the FBI, US Military, and twenty-five other countries referred to as S.N.A.P. This system is broken down and explain on how it can be used in average day situations with average situations to get information you want, and cues to look for to determine the other person’s actions, as well as their response.
I’ve found the book to be very informative, while I have yet to finish it, there are some eye-opening analogies and good tips. I know that a lot of us have some trust issues left over from the “waste their time” years. This should help get a handle on knowing who or what is wasting your time or just doesn’t have the best intentions.
Being Good: A short introduction to ethics. By: Simon Blackburn
The final book you should read to help turn your 2018 around is a personal favorite of mine since high school. Being Good is an introduction to ethics. It is very humorous with a wonderfully witty tone. This short book takes big moral questions head on and does so in an admirable way. The are some illustrations that add to the charm, such as The Human Genetic Code: Deciphered on page forty-one. It should help you decide you at least want your own moral compass to point.
All of these books, are based on the idea of bettering your life. In your attitude, in what you know, in what you believe. Sometimes the smallest of changes can have the biggest effects. I hope you give at least one of these titles a try, and I hope they help you in some way.
