When I first picked up Berry White from Solstice, I was told by the budtender that if I smoked enough of it, he would start singing to me. Honestly, I’m more excited to smoke this strain because it comes from a cross of two of my all time favorites, Blueberry and White Widow.
Both of these strains are famous on their own, and the name Berry White is famous for other reasons. I thought about playing some of his music while I wrote this review, but instead I opted with Blueberry Yum Yum from Snoop Dogg. Solstice seems to be a fairly popular grower in the Seattle area and I was excited to try one of their products for the first time. The anticipation of smoking this Indica only increased when I read on the back that Solstice was awarded the Grower of the Year award.
When I opened the packaging I was super surprised by the definitive berry smell with a hint of something sweet that filled the air. The buds were a darker shade of green with orange hairs and trichomes everywhere. They were also slightly sticky, which made it difficult to break apart a bowl for my bong. The taste was better than the smell, I feel like the White Widow genetics really stood out in the taste and the Blueberry came out more in the smell.
The high from this weed was a perfect way to unwind after putting in a long day at work dealing with people that I’m not used to talking to on a daily basis. I also had way to much fun on Sunday and felt a bit under the weather most of the morning and afternoon. I was hungry, relaxed, and happy, three of the four side effects Kat Williams lists in his weed themed standup.
