The next chapter of the Gundam franchise is almost here.
Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially announced that a brand new Gundam anime series will be unveiled during San Diego Comic Con 2026, giving fans their first look at what’s next for one of anime’s most influential franchises. The reveal is on Thursday, July 23, while fans around the world will also be able to watch a special presentation online through GUNDAM CHANNEL INTL.
With Gundam celebrating continued growth across anime, gaming, and model kits, this year’s Comic Con presence is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s biggest in years.

A New Gundam Era Begins At SDCC
The centerpiece of Gundam’s San Diego Comic Con schedule will be the GUNDAM Showcase 2026 – Unveil the Next Gundam panel.
The panel takes place on Thursday, July 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PT in Room 6BCF. The presentation will feature special guests from Japan as they officially introduce the franchise’s newest anime series. While Bandai has remained quiet about the story, characters, and timeline, the company has confirmed attendees will be the first to learn what comes next for Gundam.
Fans attending the panel will also receive exclusive giveaway bags while supplies last. The collection includes a Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe mini poster, an event exclusive T-shirt, a promotional GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT EX Base card for the Gundam Card Game, an inflatable Beam Saber, a 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Workshop Kit, a Gunpla shopping bag, Gundam headband, and an introduction booklet.
For longtime collectors, these limited items will likely become some of the most sought after exclusives from this year’s convention. Below, you can see all the exclusive items that will be given out at this year’s SDCC.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT Will Also Be Featured
The new anime will not be the only major attraction for Gundam fans.
Bandai Namco confirmed that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT will also have a significant presence throughout Comic Con. Visitors to the Gundam booth will be able to get a closer look at displays centered around the upcoming game alongside exhibits celebrating the newly announced anime.
The booth will also feature photo opportunities with Gundam statues and GUNPLA, exclusive merchandise, collectible figures, and additional giveaways available throughout the event.
After introducing GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT as an entirely new universe designed to welcome both longtime fans and newcomers, Comic Con becomes the franchise’s first major opportunity to showcase how the game fits into Gundam’s expanding future.
Free Gunpla Workshops Return
One of the biggest attractions on the show floor will once again be the free Gunpla building workshop.
The workshop is held daily at Mezzanine 19. Attendees will have the opportunity to build their own Gundam model from start to finish before taking it home. Admission is completely free, although seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
Gunpla building will start approximately 30 minutes after convention doors open. If someone is building their very first Gunpla or has spent years customizing model kits, the workshop remains one of the most accessible experiences at Comic Con.
Fans Around The World Can Watch Online

Not everyone will be able to make the trip to San Diego, but Bandai has already planned a way for international fans to join the excitement. A special presentation announcing the new Gundam anime will stream globally through GUNDAM CHANNEL INTL. beginning Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time (2:00 p.m. Eastern Time).
The online program will feature the same major announcements revealed during the Comic Con panel, allowing Gundam fans around the world to experience the unveiling nearly at the same time as those attending in person.
Bandai noted that the stream is a separate presentation rather than a live broadcast of the panel itself, but viewers can still expect all of the important reveals surrounding the franchise’s newest anime. If you are a long time Gundam fan, you definitely do not want to miss this!
