Jonathan Whitmer, better known by his stage name Kxllswxtch will be headlining at the House of Blues on February 21st. He kicked off his cross-country tour earlier this month with fellow artists Fat Nick, Kamiyada, and Savage Ga$p.
His most notable song Waste, featured on his Disorder album helping push the artist’s name into circulation despite having previous success in the industry. Kxll brings a rager-type energy to the table when it comes to performing. On the other side of the coin he displays his more emotionally personal side through his music.
Artist Breakdown
The Orange-County rapper began in 2017. At this time underground artists seemed to rapidly pour into the mainstream scene. SoundCloud, a free music platform, allowed songs or albums to be presented in front of large audiences with ease. Kxllswxtch eventually landed a collaboration with popular Florida-based rapper Pouya. Early examples of struggles in his life from constant troubles with the law, depression, and drug addiction allowed music to be his escape. These experiences will later help mold his blend of alternative grunge hip-hop, coupled with a poignant reflection of past hardships, leading him to some success through the next couple years.
In 2020, Kxllswxtch released his debut album, KILL! which showed promising popularity. This album he revealed outrag, energy, and an unforgiving side of his personality. The following year he dropped his second album DISORDER which blew up on the internet. Breakup-inspired “Waste” had become the most popular songs from this project. The viral hit tied in with the popular movie The Batman from a video that exploded with views after a creator overlayed Kxll’s hit over compilation clips of the movie.
