HaveUHeard!? Live is getting ready to bring their Above the Noise workshop series to Seattle. These workshops provide musicians with insight on the business behind the art through curated panel discussions with industry professionals. Having successfully run multiple events in the Spokane area, HUH!? Is now bringing their educational series to the west side of the mountains on May 9th at the Here-After Theater in Belltown.
Above the Noise: Jump Starting a Music Career
For this installment of the Above the Noise series, panelists will be providing practical tips and strategies for jump starting a music career. This is an especially important workshop for young artists to attend because not only can they pick up crucial bits of insight and knowledge, but they can also network with seasoned professionals as well as their peers, getting their name out there and creating relationships that could ultimately help their careers in the future.
Topics being covered will include developing your identity, building a fan base and the importance of diversifying your revenue streams. Also on the agenda: ways to improve your in-person networking skills, the significance of conscious branding and how best to approach press outlets and talent buyers. The panelists will speak from first-hand experience, sharing both successes and pitfalls, which will provide valuable advice on establishing good working habits to further your career. You may know him from his bands All Star Opera and Small Paul or even from his work in booking the Seattle World Tour, a 5-day benefit concert series that gives back directly to the local community.
Ryker
Manager, talent buyer, festival owner, and educator, Ryker is another jack of all trades in the music industry. Although Ryker lives in Spokane, she makes sure here presence is known in Seattle by constantly being out here supporting and networking with the artists in the area.
