On the menu today, we have a delightful 8 oz. serving of Milc paired with a side of Goldenbeets and topped with a pungent Horseradish sauce. This Portland-based recipe really showcases and highlights the robust flavors that each ingredient brings to the meal.
Quick Thoughts on the Tracks
After an appetizing starter of some “Oysters,” the table opens up to allow more guests to join the meal. Big Kahuna OG takes a seat first, delivering bars like they’re scissor kicks on “M. Bison” over an effervescent Pelligrino-type beat.
The production on “Ecto Cooler” is a bit quirky and robotic. Meanwhile, both Milc and UGLYFRANK attack their verses with a Rock’em Sock’em delivery, knockin’ heads to the sky with every other bar. “I don’t just walk on the beat, I pace on it,” Milc says in his verse. He backs that bar up by maintaining his smooth and consistent gait throughout the entirety of Horseradish.

Milc and Goldenbeets Work Harmoniously
Slipping into a slinkier vibe, the track “Skinemax” receives an NC-17 rating. “Hoppin’ out the Cherokee, my abs is washboard. Y’all rappers sophomore. Your porn is softcore. I got her on all fours, biting the aux cord. She a cock goblin, call her Doc Osborn.” If you want raunchy bars over some smooth jazz lounge vibes, then this is the track for you.
On “Slam Cover,” Milc and Blake Anthony effortlessly deliver 32 bars each filled with endless pop culture references and unique rhymes. Goldenbeets did a stellar job giving these guys an interesting beat that simultaneously defines the song while still hiding in the background allowing the lyrics to really fill up the foreground. As the beat rides out at the end of the track, it acts as a palette cleanser before you’re quickly dipped into the “Ranch.” This bold follow up track picks up the energy a bit with these erratic strings that dominate the beat.
Milc begins the next track, “Washougal,” by establishing the level at which his lyrics are revered at, “My notes app belong in the Smithsonian.” He then proceeds to spit the coldest of bars that soak through deep like the thickest drops in a Pacific Northwest rainstorm.
He closes out the album alongside Rich Jones with their ode to the classic version of “MTV.” That time, back in the day, when it was channel 63 and they focused on music videos. Even though this track is dense lyrically, Goldenbeets offsets that with a light and refreshing beat. This harmonious dynamic between the producer and rapper can be heard throughout the album. The success of their collaboration begs the question, will we see more from these two soon?
