Berner, coming off of his first Forbes cover, is touching down in Las Vegas, on November 16th, for the MJBizCon convention. Berner, real name Gilbert Milam Jr., started from humble beginnings. At age 15, he worked for a short stint at Wendy’s, the popular fast-food chain. After receiving his first check, he bought some local weed to flip. 25 years later, he now heads, Cookies, the first billion-dollar cannabis empire.
What started out as a close-knit group of breeders, connoisseur smokers, and master marketers, eventually turned into a family. A cannabis family focused on breeding the best tasting, looking, and feeling flower in the California medical market. Girl Scout Cookies was a weed phenomenon that blew up into a lot more than just a brand.
Cookies brand has now opened 55 retail marijuana locations in the U.S. as well as Canada, Israel, the Netherlands and Spain.
In August 2022, Berner was the first cannabis executive to be featured on the cover of Forbes Magazine since it launched in 1917. Not only was this a huge leap forward for his personal growth, but a huge step in the right direction for the cannabis industry. Respect My Region’s own, Mitch Pfeifer, interviewed the cannabis and hip-hop legend earlier this year as Berner spoke on his growth in both industries.
Berner will be appearing Wednesday, November 16, during MJBizCon’s 3-day run at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
