This year Bumbershoot seems to be bigger and better than ever! There are tons of artists performing and a very unique addition to this year’s festival. In addition to a stellar lineup that features Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd, Flosstradamus, and many other incredible acts, USC Events has partnered with Bumbershoot to bring a selection of dance music performers to Seattle center for what is sure to be the funkiest Silent Disco in PNW history.
Dr. Fresch, Candyland, and Dieselboy are the headliners for this ‘silent disco’ and they are set to take fans through quite an interesting musical experience where guests wear wireless headphones and tune into one of the DJs playing live. This year, 24 of Seattle’s favorite local DJs are going to take fans through an intensely silent experience at the EMP Sky Church located in Seattle Center and it is definitely an event that I am anxiously awaiting. As excited as I am for this year’s big-name performers at Bumbershoot, I’m more excited to see a group of 8 local artists get their chance to perform at such a big event. Looking at the lineup for the Silent Disco I see a selection of particular Seattle DJs that I can’t wait to enjoy out at the EMP because of how supportive they are to the local dance music community. You can find each of these local artists online and you’re even able to experience their abilities outside of Bumbershoot when they’re playing at local clubs, bars, and opening at many of the bigger artists’ shows. One of the coolest things about each of these artists is that you’ll also find them supporting each other at almost every major event going down in Seattle and even some of the bigger ones going on around the PNW.
Shouts to Altesse, Darrius, Doozy, Justin Hartinger, Mikey Mars, Rome, SHARPS, and last but not least, Treyis, for being all over Respect My Region’s radar as entertainers, promoters, and most importantly as awesome people.
