20-year old rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again was arrested last night, September 28th on various drug and firearm charges. WAFB reports the arrest of 16 people late Monday night, including YoungBoy. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office nabbed the rapper and presumed associates on drug, felony possession, and stolen firearms charges.
All involved are facing variations of the same charges. The charges include possession of schedule I drugs, manufacturing/distributing a schedule II drug, and manufacturing/distributing schedule IV drugs.
Rumored footage of Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again‘s arrest made its way online. The video claims to show the scene of the raid taking place as he was reportedly shooting a music video. Young Boy, born Kentrell Gaulden, was taken away in handcuffs with several others.
“Kentrell is not guilty of any crimes,” the rapper’s attorney James Manasseh said in a statement released Tuesday. “There’s nothing in the report that indicates that he did anything wrong. They arrested several people and there was no indication that he had any guns or drugs on him at the time of the arrest. I ultimately believe he will be found innocent in all of this.”
The rapper is no stranger to legal trouble. If any of the charges stick, the rapper could face several years in prison. This comes after his release from jail last year, following his involvement in a Miami shooting while still on probation for a previous case.
Young Boy Never Broke Again’s arrest comes during the peak of his career. The rapper’s newly released album Top, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart – his third #1 album in less than a year.
