The XXL 2019 Freshman Cyphers Kick Off With Megan Thee Stallion And DaBaby Standing Out

The XXL 2019 Freshman Cyphers kicked off today with YK Osiris, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, and Seattle’s own Lil Mosey. With DJ Scheme on the 1’s and 2’s spinning the D-Fresh produced beat. These four artists lead off one of the most anticipated freshman classes of the last few years. Lil Mosey isn’t a “bar” artists and while he sounded like he actually came off the dome there wasn’t much effort into his verse. Aside from that the stand-outs of this cypher were DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion spit straight fire over the beat with her fast Houston flow that was unmatched by any of the other artists in terms of speed. Megan held it down for the ladies of hip-hop and could emerge as one of if not the best from this year’s heavily talented class.

DaBaby is another Freshman that could come out of this as one of the best from the 2019 class. His signature flow glides over the beat effortlessly as he pulls out 55 racks and drops it like some change. Enjoy his raps or not, DaBaby is a showman. Always providing dope entertainment not only audibly but, visually. This has become a lost art to some artist. So, it’s nice to see someone who is able to have an exuberant stage presence.
