Hot Music Friday Featuring Wiz Khalifa, Charli XCX, Freddie Gibbs and More

Wiz Khalifa, Charli XCX, Freddie Gibbs and More Included On This Week’s Hot Music Friday

We’re halfway through the year and it’s time for another Hot Music Friday celebration. Each day, each week and each month bears ripe music, which is what nourishes us through the good times and the bad. This weekend, we’re happy to tell you, is all good.

With some tight picks from Wiz Khalifa, Charli XCX and Freddie Gibbs, we’re stoked to kickstart the first full weekend of July!

Hot Music Friday

“You” – Wiz Khalifa (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)

Anyone even remotely familiar with the hip-hop space knows that seeing Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign in the same sentence is a major green flag. Just reading their names together is fun, so you best believe this joint is as dope as it sounds. It’s truly a blessing to have songs like these to help us kickstart Hot Music Friday.

“Speed Drive” – Charli XCX

Whether you like Charli XCX or not, she serves a purpose to her people … and there are a lot of them! With her hopping on the All-Star team put together to soundtrack the upcoming Barbie movie, her fan base is only proliferating, so it’s time to pick which side of history you want to be on.

“TRUTH OR DARE” – CHIKA & Freddie Gibbs

Overflowing the flavor, we had to get you started by serving you this gem by CHIKA and Freddie Gibbs off our menu. It’s fun and digestible, and guaranteed to get you in the right spirit as you proceed down our list.

“WDGAF” – Dave East (feat. G-Eazy)

Dave East has been showing up on Hot Music Friday recently, but hey, it’s cause he’s dropping one fire track after the other. This time around, he’s got the Bay Area’s very own G-Eazy, who’s currently making a comeback into the music space. Rest assured, we’re here for it.

“Breaking All My Rules” – Dante Bowe (feat. VIC MENSA)

Here’s a reason to love Dante Bowe — he brings out the best in others, and VIC MENSA is the latest example of it. The Chicago rapper is hit or miss, but his highs are heavenly, and “Breaking All My Rules” is a prime example of that. The two play off each other’s flawlessness, and Hot Music Friday serves to bring attention to such chemistry.

“Hippodrome” – Jamie T

After a lengthy hiatus, the lad price finally gave us a stellar new album last year. With the release of “Hippodrome,” it’s a relief to know that Jamie T won’t disappear into obscurity again. Anything by the Wimbledon native is guaranteed to elevate your mood, so make sure you don’t skip past this one!

“Live Again” – The Chemical Brothers (feat. Halo Maud)

Always set aside time for the heroes who brought us this far. English electronic duo the Chemical Brothers have been in the game for a minute, and though they’re not as active as they were during their heyday, they still bring the head every single time. TO that point, how could we ignore them on Hot Music Friday?

“St. Charles Square” – Blur

Since we’ve fully crossed the pond, let’s wrap it up by throwing on the latest tune by Britpop sweethearts Blur. With the new album around the corner, every release by Damon Albarn’s four-piece is an exciting treat, so sure enough, “St. Charles Square” does not disappoint.
