God bless Willie Nelson. I know that probably wasn’t the first thing on your mind when you came to read this, but hear me out. Not only is the guy an American songwriting legend and a huge marijuana activist, he also has his own personal brand of cannabis. And its some gas!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on Willie’s Reserve’s Chemdawg 4 “1 gram ready roll” and let me tell you, Willie knows his stuff.
To be honest, I was won over before I even opened the tube. The outer layer is made out of high quality cardboard material and has really clean ol’ western typography and imagery, keeping it consistent with Mr. Nelson’s aesthetic. What’s super dope about the packaging is that when you remove the outer layer, the compartment holding the joint (that’s sitting in its protective plastic tube) is covered in black and white pictures of Willie Nelson in an old-school, sports mural style.
That kind of attention to detail displays a level of passion in your product and is what helps me remember brands over others in an exponentially expanding market.
Like I said, Willie’s Reserve didn’t just dress this pre-roll up pretty, their Chemdawg 4 is no joke! The taste was enjoyable, the paper and filter not altering the sour, piney punch at all. You’ll be able to tell from one of the photos, it also burned as smooth as you can hope, which is a deal-breaker for me when it comes to pre-rolls.
On Willie’s Reserve’s website, they explain how Willie was always sharing when it came to his pot. I could feel their dedication to this mindset because after getting halfway through the full gram “ready roll”, I had to ash it and find my friends for back up. I wasn’t planning on spending the night on the couch, but that was exactly where I was thanks to the Chemdawg 4.
Although it is a hybrid, the indica domination is prominent and I was feeling relaxed and drowsy almost immediately after getting a couple drags in. If you’re like me and enjoy some awesome indica but don’t need all that much, I’d suggest either sharing this with a couple homies or even a group.
Opting for Willie’s Reserve’s “2 half-gram ready rolls,” because while the high is very unwinding, it’s easy to go overboard and lock yourself on the couch for the rest of the evening. Overall, from the packaging to the high, Willie’s Reserves provides a product fit for a weed-smoking, American country legend.
