BKTHERULA and Whethan Unleash “I GO PUNK” Ahead of N5ON Album and International Tour

BKTHERULA is kicking off her next chapter with maximum energy. The Atlanta artist has officially released “I GO PUNK,” a new collaboration with multi-platinum producer Whethan that serves as the first single from her upcoming album N5ON, expected later this summer through Warner Records.

Known for pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of hip-hop, BKTHERULA has spent the last several years building one of the most unique catalogs in modern music. Her ability to blend melodic rap, punk influences, alternative sounds, and experimental production has helped her carve out a lane that continues to grow with every release.

“I GO PUNK” is the latest evolution of that approach.

Produced by Whethan, the track is loud, chaotic, energetic, and unapologetically built for movement. Heavy electronic production collides with BK’s aggressive delivery, creating a record that feels equally at home in a warehouse rave, festival crowd, mosh pit, or late-night summer party.

The collaboration marks the first official release between the two artists, but it sounds like something that has been years in the making.

BKTHERULA and Whethan Unite for Huge Release

“‘I GO PUNK’ is really just me letting go and doing whatever feels good,” BKTHERULA shared. “I wasn’t thinking about rules or genres or trying to make something safe. I just wanted it to feel loud, reckless, fun, and honest. It’s the type of song you throw on when you’re outside with your friends during the summer, not caring about anything and just living in the moment.”

That energy is present throughout the record.

Rather than fitting neatly into a single category, “I GO PUNK” thrives in the space between genres. Whethan’s production pulls inspiration from electronic music, bass culture, punk energy, and festival-ready sound design while BKTHERULA delivers the type of performance that has made her one of the most exciting young artists to emerge from Atlanta’s music scene.

For Whethan, the collaboration represented an opportunity to finally bring together two worlds he believed naturally belonged together.

“I’ve been a fan of BK for years, and even shouted her out in my record with Yeat, midwxst, and Matt Ox, ‘Lock It Up,'” said Whethan. “I knew if we ever got in the studio together again, we’d create the perfect blend of rap and EDM, which ultimately became ‘I GO PUNK.'”

Accompanying the release is a music video directed by Jamali “Mali” Martinez.

The visual places BKTHERULA at the center of a chaotic house party filled with dancing, crowd surfing, mosh pits, and late-night energy. The setting mirrors the record’s free-spirited nature and captures the youthful excitement that drives the entire release.

The single also officially launches the N5ON era.

While details surrounding the full project remain limited, “I GO PUNK” offers a glimpse into the sonic direction BKTHERULA appears ready to explore. The neon-inspired aesthetic, high-energy production, and focus on movement suggest an album designed to be experienced as much as heard.

The timing could not be better.

BKTHERULA enters the summer with significant momentum following the success of her 2025 album LUCY. The project showcased her continued growth as an artist and included fan-favorite records such as “EUPHORIA,” “BIG FEELING,” and “LOVESEXDREAMS.”

Since breaking onto the scene with her viral 2019 record “Tweakin’ Together,” BKTHERULA has accumulated more than 484 million global streams while establishing herself as one of the leading voices within the new generation of alternative hip-hop. Her rise has included appearances at Coachella, Rolling Loud, Summer Smash, and recognition through Forbes 30 Under 30.

This summer she will bring the N5ON experience overseas with performances scheduled throughout Europe and the United Kingdom.

Upcoming dates include Splash! Festival in Germany on July 3, a Paris headline show on July 5, London on July 6, Amsterdam on July 9, and a major appearance at Openair Frauenfeld in Switzerland on July 11.

Whethan is also entering one of the busiest stretches of his career.

Fresh off a standout Coachella DoLab performance and a series of sold-out headline dates, the producer recently announced his WAREHOUSE.WAVS Tour, a 16-city run across North America. Multiple dates have already sold out, including Charlotte, San Diego, and Denver, highlighting the growing demand for the heavier bass-driven sound he has reintroduced throughout this latest chapter of his career.

Over the years, Whethan has built an impressive resume that includes collaborations with Dua Lipa, Oliver Tree, Rico Nasty, Yeat, Joji, Megan Thee Stallion, and The Chainsmokers. His independently released hit “Money On The Dash” earned RIAA Gold certification while helping solidify his place as one of electronic music’s most versatile producers.

The tour will conclude December 4 with a massive hometown-style finale at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall.

For both artists, “I GO PUNK” arrives at a pivotal moment.

BKTHERULA is introducing a new album era while preparing for international stages. Whethan continues expanding the WAREHOUSE.WAVS movement while selling out venues across North America.

Together they’ve delivered a record that feels built for summer, packed crowds, and anyone looking for a soundtrack that refuses to stay inside the lines.
