UFC Vegas 95 Main Event: Marcin Tybura vs. Serghei Spivac 2

UFC Vegas 95’s main event features a rematch beween top ten ranked heavyweights No. 8-ranked Marcin Tybura (25-8-0) and No. 9-ranked Serghei Spivac (16-4-0) over five rounds.

Tybura, 38, is coming into this rematch riding a first-round submission victory over Tai Tuivasa back in March.

Spivac, 29, will be looking to redeem himself with this opportunity after losing by TKO in the second round to Ciryl Gane in September 2023.

These two initially fought back in February 2020, and Tybura scored well-timed takedowns and controlled Spivac over three rounds, leading to a decision victory.

That said, I see this fight playing out similarly to the first meeting. Tybura will look to implement well-timed takedowns on Spivac over the course of the scheduled five rounds.

The two will take the center of the cage and exchange strikes until eventually looking to score a takedown.

If Tybura is to win at UFC Vegas 95, he should call for a top-six matchup with Curtis Blaydes.

Prediction: Tybura via Decision

UFC Vegas 95 Co-main Event: Damon Jackson vs. Chepe Mariscal

UFC Vegas 95’s co-main event features featherweights Damon Jackson (23-6-1, 1NC) taking on Chepe Mariscal (16-6-0, 1NC) over three rounds.

Mariscal, 31, is the moderate favorite heading into this entertaining matchup as he takes on the veteran Jackson.

Jackson, 36, is coming off a split-decision victory over Alexander Herandez in April.

Mariscal is riding a six-fight win streak from 2022 when he was fighting under the promotion ‘Of cage Warriors.’ His last fight featured a closely contested split decision victory over Morgan Charriere in April.

That said, Mariscal’s younger, shorter fighter will look to outmuscle and outstrike Jackson when given the opportunity.

Jackson is not the greatest striker, and I see Mariscal looking to keep the fight standing as he keeps Jackson at bay with punches.

Mariscal will look to land more effective strikes, neutralizing the grappling entries from Jackson at UFC Vegas 95.

Prediction: Mariscal via Decision

Danny Barlow vs. Nikolay Veretennikov

Potentially the most intriguing prospect on this card is featured in this unranked welterweight matchup as Danny Barlow (8-0-0) faces off against Kazakhstan’s Nikolay Veretennikov (12-4-0).

This welterweight matchup is sure to deliver excellent viewing for fight fans, as the fighters will most likely try to continue exchanging punches and kicks instead of grappling.

The devastating puncher Barlow comes into this fight as an undefeated prospect looking to keep his impressive record intact as he takes on the dangerous striker Veretennikov.

Barlow, a formidable figure in the welterweight division, stands over six feet tall with an almost 80-inch reach, a physical marvel that commands respect.
Veretennikov is coming into this fight riding a three-fight finish streak.

That said, these two welterweights will meet in the center of the cage and exchange in striking distance until someone is inevitably hurt and potentially finished.

Prediction: Barlow via KO/TKO R2
