It’s been a while since Wu-Tang has been on RMR’s radar, but a recent interview of U-God’s caught our attention. U-God tells the harrowing story of Ghostface Killah reminding him of NBA champion LeBron James during a recent interview. Ghostface acted quickly to save a friend’s life in Hawaii during the video shoot for their classic cut “It’s Yourz.”
He shared the harrowing anecdote during a segment on his new U-God Raw podcast, released on Wednesday (August 18), stemming from a question surrounding LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony’s infamous ‘Banana Boat’ vacation story.
U-God explained how Wu-Tang members he, Ghostface Killah, RZA, and others nearly met their demise. The event occurred while involved in an assortment of water sports-related activities. Similar to the freak-accident Anthony described, which led to James jumping into the ocean and saving his life.
“Ghost rescued somebody from — same shit that LeBron did,” U-God began.
“Somebody fell in the water, Ghost had to go in and save ’em. RZA did the same shit parasailing, but he got tangled up inside the fucking parasail and came down and almost drowned, too,” he continued in the clip.
“I did the same thing with Master Killer — I didn’t know, I smashed into him with the jetski, he flipped over and went into the fucking water and I thought I lost my brother for a second.”
