This weekend, hip-hop royalty Tyler, the Creator will release a handful of songs that never made the final cut of his 2021 album, Call Me If You Get Lost. Much like Kendrick Lamar’s untitled unmastered., these tracks were conceived during the recording session of an album they weren’t included on. The good news is that Tyler is now releasing Call Me If You Get Lost: The Real Estate Sale to ensure the pieces left out get to see the light of day.
The news comes with a peek at the larger package scheduled to release on March 31. Tyler has released a song from the updated tracklist as well as a music video, and it is everything you’d expect from him.
“DOGTOOTH” by Tyler, the Creator
The above song came with its own drama. Right as “Dogtooth” comes to an end, Tyler raps, “If you don’t know my daughter name, then we ain’t really—” This sentence is cut off by the hook, leading fans to speculate that he’s had a child this entire time. Soon after, the artist shot down the rumors in a since-deleted tweet: “i dont have kids and dont plan on it hahaha.”
Tyler recently revealed that Call Me If You Get Lost was the first album he made that had a bunch of leftovers. Its upcoming extended edition will feature a range of never-before-heard songs in addition to the extensive, 16-piece tracklist. The original record, which won Best Rap Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards, is all set to evolve and we’re here for it.
CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST WAS THE FIRST ALBUM I MADE WITH ALOT OF SONGS THAT DIDNT MAKE THE FINAL CUT. SOME OF THOSE SONGS I REALLY LOVE, AND KNEW THEY WOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY, SO IVE DECIDED TO PUT A FEW OF THEM OUT.
