Tyga and Avril Lavigne were undoubtedly an odd pairing, but the two seemed happy together. After only a few months, though, the two have called it quits.
TMZ reports that the Canadian singer and the Compton rapper have mutually parted ways, but the two remain friends. Lavigne recently concluded a tour whereas Tyga is gearing up to release a collaborative album with fellow LA spitter, YG.
Rumors of the relationship first began making the rounds in February, when the pair was spotted together in California. It was later confirmed that they were dating when Tyga and Lavigne shared a kiss at an event during Paris Fashion Week.
Soon after, the couple even posted pictures on Instagram together, among which was a shot of the two cozying up next to each other.
The couple, during their brief time together, were very open about their romance and made it known every time they made a public appearance together. In March, Tyga even gifted Lavigne a diamond chain made by superstar jeweler Eric Mavani, better known as Eric Da Jeweler.
The piece was reportedly worth almost $80,000 and comprised of 50 carats of black diamonds, white diamonds and pink sapphires.
In other news, Tyga has been actively releasing music in anticipation of his joint project with YG. Over June, the duo released two songs together — “West Coast Weekend” featuring fellow LA artist, Blxst, and “PLATINUM.” Though it is still unclear when the full-length tracklist will drop, the excitement around is surely building as the duo seems to have switched to album mode. Hopefully, it’s right around the corner.
