The King of NW Hip Hop, Vurstayl of Lifesavas, has made an appearence on TxE’s video for the track “This Town”. In black and white, made to look like a grainy VHS recording, this video captures the essence of this town, Portland, Oregon. This video opens with shots of the iconic neon lights of Mary’s, Sassy’s, and Taboo, as well as images of run down trailer homes and walls covered in graffiti, while Sallie Ford asks listeners, “Who Gives A Shit About This Town?” Vursatyl comes on near the end of the video, and as is only appropriate, he wears a gold crown and raps about his success, warning rappers “if you want to be the best, you’ve got to ask my permission around here”. KNWPO created this one, and like I’ve said in a few previous posts, his work is consistent and I am impressed every time.
