Triangle Kush isn’t a strain that grabs your attention, maybe because you haven’t seen it on the shelves too often. It’s easy to get swept up in all of the Gelatos and Sunset Sherbets out there. Wedding Cake is a strain I was stuck on for a long time and that’s the first time I came across the Triangle Kush strain, as it was one of Wedding Cake’s genetic predecessors.
Triangle Kush is Florida Man’s version of OG Kush. OG Kush is a west coast favorite. But this specific phenotype was bred and chosen for the heat and humidity of the Deep South. Its name comes from the three heaviest cannabis regions in the Sunshine State: Tampa, Miami, and Jacksonville. Many argue that it has a lot of the same hard-hitting aspects of OG Kush. Some of its other known characteristics are spicy, citrus aromas that when working with the THC, can potentially create a heavy blanket of relaxation. This effect may mostly come from its indica properties.
Wikileaf also hints at Chemdawg, Lemon Thai, and Hindu Kush in the genetics as well, which points to an impressive lineup in the review mirror of its genetic background. Looking forward, Triangle Kush was bred back into one of its most famous offspring, Wedding Cake. From that, the Florida Cake strain came to be. Florida Cake inherits many of the traits that make Triangle Kush a popular breeding partner. It gives a great indica kick and a potential mental buzz that may get the creative juices flowing.
