Trapperman Dale and Starlito Explore Seattle's Legal Weed Scene "For The High" - Exclusive Interview

Nashville’s Trapperman Dale and Starlito Explore Seattle’s Legal Weed Scene “For The High” – Exclusive Interview

Nashville Tennesee is a long way from the Pacific Northwest, but that didn’t stop two of the states finest rappers from visiting our region’s emerald crown jewel. Starlito and Trapperman Dale (they released a collab album called Trapstar) stopped by Sky High Gardens in downtown Seattle to scope the ins and outs of our recreational cannabis industry. During their visit, they took advantage of Sky High’s dank surroundings to film “For The High.”

Starlito and Trapperman Dale Interview

Welcome to Seattle guys .. we’re far from Nashville.. how did you guys end up here?

Starlito: My first visit was in 2017 on tour with Don Trip. It was my favorite cities out of 40. The weed, the clean air, and strangely I like rain. I’ve been a frequent visitor since for Seahawks games or just for vacation. Nice hiking areas and beaches.

Trapperman Dale: The first time? We had a show with Ganesh Vapes a while back. The weather was good and the weed was awesome.

You have a strong partnership with Ganesh Vapes.. how did that come about?

Starlito: Our companies have similar ethics, and we’ve been able to collaborate on both events and products. We’re able to mutually benefit from the relationship between hip-hop and the cannabis cultures.

We’re spending today at Sky High Gardens. What do you think of this place?

Trapperman Dale: I ain’t never seen this much weed in my god damn life. That shit is dope seeing the plants, how they grow them, clone them…. There’s a lot of stuff you wouldn’t know about weed just buying it in the streets. It’s really cool seeing it all come together, it’s a real business though.

Starlito: Yeah, it was a great grown-up field trip. The team there was very knowledgeable and hospitable. Pretty much the vibe I’ve gotten from Seattle since Day one.

Is cannabis legalized where you’re from? What differences do you see?

Trapperman Dale: No. You will go to jail. If you have any cannabis on you… you will go to jail.

You have some of your own smoking products for merchandise .. do you plan to create your own strain?

Starlito: I’ve been pursuing the idea for a little while now. Much like music, quality control is integral. Anything is attached my namesake or brand to I’d like to be somewhat of a reflection. Looking to bring them to the public and to the marketplace very soon.

What are your favorite buds and what type of Strain would you like to create?

Trapperman Dale: Right now? Runtz … naw .. Smarties is my favorite. Smarties. Which it came from Seattle, I think. You guys probably already know that. Miguel and them know. Miguel and them know everything.

Starlito: Yeah, shout out to my guy Kush4Breakfast out here in Washington. He put us on game with the Smarties and a few other strains. I’ve always been partial to OG and Sour Diesel. The downside where we come from, is you don’t always have the luxury of knowing or picking out what’s for consumption. Street-level dealings can get sketchy and it might be anything promoted as a popular namesake strain. Especially with all of the high-end packaging, which apparently can be sold separately.

Thoughts on Seattle?

Trapperman Dale: The weed. The bud. It’s just cozy up here too though.

Starlito: I’m thinking about recording an album here. I enjoy it a lot. It feels like I’m on a different planet almost, considering where I come from. I like seafood and sushi, so there’s a lot of that too.
