On Friday, June 2, American rapper Toosii released his new record NAUJOUR. The record includes 19 tracks and features from Khalid, Wallo267, 21 Savage and Future. The album follows his breakout viral hit “Favorite Song.” NAUJOUR is getting a lot of great reviews and should help Toosii to continue to rise.

Who is Toosii?
Toosii grew up in upstate New York and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when he was a teenager. He began making music at the age of 16. Toosii was discovered by South Coast Music Group, who also discovered DaBaby. He was eventually signed to their record label which is a sub label of Capitol Records.
His first big break was when his 2019 track “Red Lights” reached a million streams. He has since released multiple mixtapes including, Who Dat (2019) and Platinum Heart (2020), which reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. He then released his debut record Poetic Pain (2020), which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Top 200. “Favorite Song,” the sixteenth track on the album, went viral on TikTok which took his career to the next level.

The record features Khalid’s remix of the song and a remix by Future titled, “Favorite Song (Toxic Version).” The album also includes other great tracks, including “Pull Up (feat. 21 Savage), and “Villains and Heroes.” NAUJOUR follows the musical themes of Toosii’s previous albums, melodic rap tracks inspired by painful and personal experiences. The record also touches on the hardships that Toosii experienced as a teenager. Overall, the record is extremely reflective.
