Andy’s Jazz Club is located just a few steps away from State Street. It’s a great place to enjoy amazing jazz music in a lively atmosphere. The club started in the 1950s as a spot for Chicago Tribune employees to hang out. In the 1970s, it changed owners, and that’s when the real excitement began. They had their first live jazz show in 1977, and now they have jazz performances at noon, five, and nine. Since it first opened in 1968, Kingston Mines has proudly been Chicago’s largest and longest-running blues club. You can easily spot it by its distinct long orange building on Halsted Street. In 2016, it was honored with the prestigious Chicago Reader’s Best Blues Club award.
