teamwork., the English and American music collective has finally released their new single, After Hours. Enlisting music stars, Nina Nesbitt and AJ Mitchell, the new song has naturally seen a tremendous amount of views already. We sat down with the duo to talk about their newly produced track, what it’s like working alongside Christina Aguilera, David Guetta, and the Chainsmokers and what their future holds!

For someone who has never heard of you, go ahead and tell us where teamwork. started and what it consists of – how did you two meet?
We first met in a session a few years ago with another artist and got on well. We worked with and for a bunch of other artists projects and decided in the summer of 2018 to try our own project.
How is it working with one another?
We love working with each other – we always have a laugh in the studio. And, it’s really fun to be doing a project like this with one of your best mates.
Your new single, “After Hours”, featuring Nina Nesbitt and AJ Mitchell is now available – How does it feel to have the official video and track available to the public?
It’s so great the song is finally out! To be honest, the process was fairly fast. we made the decision to focus on that song as the first single in the late summer of 2018 and AJ cut his part in October of 2018. We signed our deal in March 2019 and the first single came out a couple of months later in May, which is pretty quick for the music industry!

Are you getting the feedback you had hoped for?
The feedback so far has been great! The song debuted to 34 Spotify New Music Fridays around the world. Which is really great for our first single and has since been added to a bunch of playlists since. We hit a million plays on Spotify 12 days after the song was released which was really incredible. We’re excited to watch it keep growing.

AJ Mitchell & Nina Nesbitt
Tell us what it’s like working alongside Christina Aguilera, David Guetta and the Chainsmokers?
It’s kind of been a different experience with each artist. Some of them were songs that were pitched and then cut and some of them we worked on in the room with the artist. It’s always preferable to get in the room with an artist as you get to be more hands-on and help them realize their vision. It’s always a fun and surreal experience to see well-known artists performing your songs!
When you work with others like Tiesto, Fetty Wap and Nick Jones, what sort of things are you helping them with?
Again it’s kind of different with each artist, but Phil tends to be more lyric and melody and Taylor does more of the chords and production. However, it really depends on the artist, the song, and what’s required. Sometimes it’s a full song and production, sometimes it just helps with a section of the song or a drop that they want to be added.
What would you guys like to accomplish with teamwork.?
The whole idea behind teamwork was to have a really collaborative project, so we’d love to keep putting out music with other artists and DJ’s and building our profile and seeing just how big we can build this project!
What’s one thing you both love doing outside of making music?
Watching cheesy British reality TV shows.
