On August 4th Feezable the Germ, The Cool, and us over here at Respect My Region hosted the first Death By Stereo Seattle beat battle at Nectar Lounge. The five round battle featured Portland’s Stewart Villain Vs. Seattle’s Brainstorm (of Dyme Def). We were lucky enough to have June Dawg on hand to film and Nectar Lounge let us pull audio straight from their mixer (shout out Tor from Nectar!!). You will not hear the crowd cheers but you will be hearing the instrumentals in their intended quality (without speaker distortion like most live videos). Death By Stereo Beat Battle Video
After a shade-filled press conference at The Cool in South Center we were stoked to see the beat battle open so strongly in the first round. The two battled back and fourth until Brain was ultimately decided the victor. Stewart’s sampling was next level and while he may have had Brain on the technicality of the beats, Brain delivered some hard hitting snare rolling head bangers. Feezable the Germ and RMR were excited to host one of the best beat battles to hit the Northwest since Red Bull’s Big Tune battles.
