Tacoma hip-hop artist and multi-platinum songwriter Clemm Rishad continues to shine through his accomplishments. The grammy-nominated writer has composed and produced hits that have featured the biggest stars in hip-hop. His most recent accolade was landed writing and performing the hook on the new Wale “Routine” single also featuring Meek Mill and Rick Ross.
The Northwest hip-hop phenomenon has cultivated immense independent success. Owning multiple businesses, hosting stadium-sized local music festivals, releasing music as a solo artist, and still finding time to craft hooks for hip-hop megastars. Something rare to see from “local” artists anywhere, let alone the Pacific Northwest. While the PNW’s hip-hop scene stays ever-growing from the likes of Travis Thompson and Lil Mosey, Rishad has been in the big leagues for quite some time. Previously writing and producing music that’s featured the Nicki Minja, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and a list of others.
“Routine” is coming in as one of the hottest MMG songs of the year. Meek and Wale connecting on wax for the first time since a few beefs and the main Maybach trio rarely gets together like this. A dope moment for the Northwest music scene to have one of our own featured in the mix. I asked Clemm what it felt to be on the record and he responded, “(I’m) honored. I’m excited for Wale, it’s his 6th album. It’s a big moment, I’m just blessed to be apart of it.”
