SXSW started back in 1987 with an expectation of just 150 registrants, which was well surpassed and has grown tremendously over the years of its existence. In 2024, this will be the 37th year of SXSW, which highlights the growth of music, film, television and technology over the years. It will run from March 8-16 and host events, concerts, and provide networking opportunities throughout the city of Austin, Texas.
The city of Austin will be host to over 450 sessions taking place with global communities, talking about the world of music, tech, film, as well as others in hopes to form collaboration throughout the event. Last year over 345,00 people attended some form of the event, which helped generate 381 million dollars in spending for the Austin economy in that span.

Grammy nominated rapper DaBaby recently sat down with Shannon Sharpe for an episode of ‘Club Shay Shay’. He spoke about his infamous appearance at SXSW wearing nothing but a diaper. The goal of this was to promote his new name and upcoming releases. “I did this about 6-7 years ago and it still ring bells to this day,” he said. That moment made waves on social media and news outlets and became an intricate part of his early success.
