One thing we do know is, Drake is a very calculated artist and no move is ever made by coincidence. Every Instagram post, feature, song collab and release date is precise and a direct reflection of that. The project was originally set to release December 18th, but in true rapper fashion the project was delayed till January to reportedly land on his mothers birthday…once again in February…and here in March we are finally expecting a release.
Leading up to ‘MORE LIFE’ Drake has released “Two Birds, One Stone”, addressing G.O.O.D. Music President, Pusha T and former G.O.O.D. Music artist, Kid Cudi – in addition to “Sneakin” feat. 21 Savage and “Fake Love”, which might also appear on the project.
Album, Mixtape or Playlist?
In his most recent interview, Drake revealed that the release of ‘MORE LIFE’ is a collaborative effort with Apple Music and will be released as a playlist.
“Usually, in between albums, artists would do a mixtape but I’m doing a playlist with Apple,” Drake said. “It’s sort of the same concept. It’s not an album but it is a body of work I’m creating.”
Drake noted the purpose of the rumored 25 song playlist is to bridge the gap between his major releases and to also give his fans new music while letting everyone know he is still hungry within the rap game. He also shared that his future plans include diving back into his acting career.
What can be expected are features from 21 Savage, PopCaan, Rae Sremmurd, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd and more.
