Statik Selektah has one of the richest track records when it comes to featuring hip-hop greats on his songs and his new album will continue this practice. As per recent social media posts, the legendary Boston producer is set to release a new body of work with a deep lineup that includes IDK, Benny the Butcher, Joey Bada$$ and members of the Wu-Tang Clan, among many others.
Round Trip is scheduled to drop on June 9 and will be Statik Selektah’s tenth solo release in addition to countless collaborative albums, mixtapes and EPs. The tracklist comprises 20 cuts and features a grand total of 38 artists!
Statik Selektah put out the album’s first single in March. “Unpredictable” is a hard-hitting knockout track that features Wu-Tang Clan members Method Man, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Inspectah Deck. Considering that was our first taste of Round Trip, all the signs currently point to it being a top-tier package.
Round Trip will be Statik Selektah’s first full-length release since his 2022 collaboration with Bun B, Trillstatik 2. This was a sequel to 2019’s Trillstatik and featured Big K.R.I.T., Styles P, Boldy James, Talib Kweli and more. The album came out this past December, which puts into perspective just how prolific and focused the veteran is.
Statik Selektah is a collaborative powerhouse who has established himself as one of hip-hop’s most prized beatmakers. Having already worked with some of the biggest names in classic and modern rap, he is well into the third decade of his career and still killing it!
