Lots of brands claim to be craft cannabis but fail to meet the quality standard generally associated with that label. Hand-crafted cannabis on the otherhand, can only be claimed by a few. Skord is one of these few companies. Their quality is noticeable with their Sativa dominant hybrid Sour Tangie strain.
Powered by a group of cultivators who concentrate on growing quality, pesticide-free, hand-crafted cannabis, Skord has made a very strong case for themselves as one of Washington’s best cannabis cultivators.
The Sour Tangie strain is a cross of the famous east coast Sour Diesel and the terpy Tangie. This cultivar is often referred to as a Sativa dominant hybrid because it is known for giving users a creative and elevating buzz. I thought id smoke it and see if it helped with my creative process.
The first thing that caught my eye about Skord was their attractive packaging. For this initial review, it was their signature white cap that stood out. Although they’ve since changed to a black cap, the brand still looks great as ever. The classy yet edgy looking label was all orange, simply signifying the strains citrusy flavor.
When I opened the jar, I immediately noticed strong citrus overtones from the Tangie as well as underlying hints of diesel. This gorgeous flower is lime green and is absolutely caked with crystals and little orange hairs. It was a fresh batch so this particular version of the sour tangie strain was perfect for grinding up.
On the inhale, the sweet tangie notes stood out while on the exhale you could really taste the diesel notes. The smoke was sweet, creamy and smooth. Within 5 minutes, I started “taking flight”. An energetic and euphoric effect rushed through my body, giving me an urge to make music. I noticed that I was much more productive with this strain than a few others I had tried earlier in the week.
I would go so far as to say that the sour tangie strain is ideal to smoke when you have to do something active, say working out. Venturnig into something creative like making music would also probably be a good idea if that’s more your lane.
