Soulja Boy hopped on Instagram on Tuesday night to announce a new addition to his SODMG Records label. The YouTube legend posted that he signed Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson’s son, Chester Hanks aka Chet Hanx. Soulja Boy brought the news to light in a video that featured himself with Chet Hanx.

Big Draco was absolutely gassing up the new addition in a video posted on his Instagram yesterday. He exclaims, “Chet Hanx man, my new artist signed to SODMG Records as the first rapper signed this year…Big Draco, we about to make history, you know what I’m saying?!”
Chet Hanx has always been looked at as the black sheep of his family considering his public controversies differ from his dad’s clean-cut, “America’s dad” image. It makes sense that Tom Hanks’ most controversial kid partnered up with one of rap’s most controversial rappers and entrepreneurs.

This isn’t the only success Chet Hanx has found. He also plays the role of Blake on the critically acclaimed show, Empire. Though this is a big win for the second-generation actor, Chet has been getting into some hot water lately. Besides his early anti-vax rants, he has been wanted by British Police after wrecking a hotel room.
Additionally, there have been waves of confusion with the rapper’s “White Boy Summer.” The peculiar attempt to revive the “hot girl summer” meme has confused many people on what it is. After people claimed that the font on the merch for “White Boy Summer” was racist, the rapper tried to explain that he means white boy rappers like Jon B. or Jack Harlow. Essentially Hanx has made many questionable comments and actions surrounding hip-hop culture and people of color. The rapper has proven controversial and unpredictable.
There is so much hype surrounding what these two can get done when considering the fact that Chet Hanx already has two songs out and is working with one of the hardest hustlers in the rap game. Could we possibly be seeing a debut album drop before the end of the year? Anything is certainly possible for Chet Hanx while working with Soulja Boy.
