Seattle has been a bubbling hotbed for hip-hop talent for years. Until recently, the mainstream has only known our region for Sir Mix-A-Lot and Macklemore. Lil Mosey has sent waves through the entire country that “more” exists in the Pacific Northwest.
While locally we know Mosy isn’t exactly from Seattle…that’s a conversation for another day. Talent is connecting from all stretches of the city and outlets for all genres of hip-hop are being made. Souf Souf is one of the younger groups that seems to hold all the cards needed to make some noise.
The young duo consisting of Shotta Pistol and G-Baby simply have “that sound.” Infectious melodies, personality in their music, and a West Coast vibe that’s fitting for right now in hip-hop. I’ve been a fan of these cats for a while and their “Sinner” record is an absolute hit and G-Baby’s feature with Mafi D on “Project X” is crazy.
These young cats are up next. Mark my words.
