If you’re a fan of electronic music and not yet hip to the most legendary gastropod in the world, SNAILS, I’m gonna ask that you tap the fuck in and pay attention to this article because you clearly need to level your shit up. Ever since SNAILS became somewhat popular in the world of dubstep, he’s cultivated powerful relationships with his fans and created a super-dedicated following that go hard AF anywhere and everywhere.
His World Of Slime tour recently took over and sold out the Hollywood Palladium for a night Los Angelites won’t soon forget. An event that featured the likes of Al Ross Jayceeoh, Rusko, and SNAILS, this tour and event lived up to the hype of a lineup that could arguably be described as one of the hardest and heaviest currently available in dance music.
Going into the show, fans already knew it was sold out which meant the event was bound to be a priceless experience. Jayceeoh started the party off with an impressive energy-filled set that wasn’t too hard or too soft. I personally enjoyed the diversity of his music selection and the variety of ways he infused energy into the performance.
He was followed by another highly respected bass artist named Al Ross. Ross’s set was notably heavier and higher energy as expected from someone with his style, background, and performance slot for this show. I really enjoyed his crowd engagement but dude definitely stopped the music to yell on the mic a bit too much. More music versus yelling would’ve been great.
About halfway through his set, I noticed fans starting to take drink breaks from the dancefloor. After headbanging and dancing for two hours straight, the temperature in the room definitely started to rise. You could literally feel the energy leveling up minute by minute as we got closer to sets from the UK dubstep legend, Rusko, as well as SNAILS.
Leading up to Rusko coming on stage, fans all over the venue could be heard chatting about how excited they were. Admittedly, I also shared a similar “childlike” excitement when it came to seeing Rusko. Since he beat cancer and began making an impressive comeback to music, I’ve spent the last two years focusing more on cannabis and haven’t been able to get out to any shows.
It’s been disappointing missing show after show for the last few years but I’ll never forget the first time I witnessed Rusko’s deep funky wubs and infamous dance moves. Paradiso 2016 was the one that did it for me. That was the set that won me over as a lifelong Rusko supporter.
In all of dance music, NOBODY gives a show filled with as much passion and energy as Rusko. Combining his energy, crazy dance moves, and timeless dubstep classics, Rusko’s performance in Hollywood was an experience I won’t ever forget.
THE WORLD OF SLIME TOUR
I’m not sure how many people the Hollywood Palladium can hold but it sure felt like 1000 people were in the building. All of us got hit with bass and slime-filled bombshells from the man, myth, and legendary gastropod himself, SNAILS.
Performing many of his most popular hits and infusing some bangers from his 2018 Slimeageddon LP, dude’s set was one of the crunchiest and heaviest I’ve ever experienced. I’ve seen him perform at two different festivals over the last 4 years and none of those sets compared to the energy at this show.
If you’re a fan of SNAILS, make sure to support on social media with likes and follows. We currently follow him on Spotify.
