The first Paradiso Festival was back in 2012. In 2012, I was a 21-year-old college junior 
with no money, and very little EDM knowledge. I had no plans of going. I did however have plans to go to Life In Color, then called Dayglow, about a month before Paradiso. But those dreams were shattered by dumb, behemoth of a little sister who knocked half my front tooth out. I looked like a crack addict. Here’s a picture:
After that incident, my FOMO kicked in and I decided last minute to go to Paradiso. And it was the best decision I had ever made. I’m only mildly exaggerating. It was the beginning of my now three-year-old festival addiction, of making friends and questionable decisions.
This year’s Paradiso Festival, now in its fourth year, is about to be the biggest one yet. Armin Van Buuren, Alesso, Knife Party, Dash Berlin, Martin Garrix, and Skrillex were just announced as the first six headliners on C89.5. This is pretty close to my dream lineup. I’m so lame that I actually wrote down who I wanted to see this year. The only thing that’s missing is Yellow Claw and Borgeous, but fingers crossed.
There’s not a single artist on this list I’m not excited for. The first time I had heard Knife Party was at that first Paradiso. Armin Van Buuren and Dash Berlin are at the top of my list of favorite trance artists. I missed out on Alesso due to Freaknight’s cancellation last year, and Martin Garrix would be fun to bounce to. And Skrillex… don’t even lie, Skrillex was your gateway into EDM.
