We are graced by a prodigy this week. On Friday, Shiba San released two back-to-back tracks which quickly grabbed our attention. These mixes still manage to stand out against 15 years of experience and an eight year-spanning discography. A commitment to quality, sleek house music is what defines his grind as Shiba San makes incantation-like mixes guaranteed to throw you into his own world.
These singles mark a visit paid to the Factory 93 family under Insomniac Music Group. Shiba San makes this chance journey out of his underground-fortified label, Basement Leak. There, he purveys an onslaught of quality tech house. It’s not yet determined if these singles will be part of a bigger release, but be on the lookout for more in the future nonetheless.
“Kids who get high repeatedly don’t wanna come down!”
Those’re the words sampled in Shiba San’s first single, “Get High,” which put a narcotic spin on the beat. The trippy, thumpy mix rambles on down a malleable path, warping and shifting as it introduces new sounds. It’s almost like a downtempo psytrance track with how many elements fade in and out. It’s a productive groove for sure, though, because this machine doesn’t make any stops as it sets up the next beat.
“All The People” has a more present focus on danceability, with a distinct snare shuffle throughout peak points. Between sturdy sample-work and a swingy, free dance pattern, Shiba San brings the energy back with no delay on this track. It’s crazy how consistently his instrumentation, production value (bass especially), and composition align to produce flawless tech house.

About Shiba San
As mentioned before, Shiba San is a veteran of EDM. The Parisian DJ took inspiration from OG Chicago House for his own crafts. His actions tend to speak louder than words, giving a reputation of bite before bark. In other words, he focuses a lot more on the grind than a public image, which in turn gives him a professional one. You won’t catch Shiba San lacking, as he’s already created his own label, Basement Leak, where he continues to cultivate tech house artists/community.
