Seattle rap group Malitia MaliMob is no stranger to making slaps or being the talk of high-level news outlets. Frontman Capo Gaddafii just dropped a new EP entitled Mr. Ragu. The project is now available for free on all major streaming services but fans that want the hard copy will be shelling out $50 to support the movement.
One may look to Nipsey Hussle for the inspiration behind a high priced EP, but the MaliMob movement beats to their own drum. This isn’t the first time they’ve been local music trendsetters. Brandishing features from mainstream giants like XXL Magazine, Vice, and Hip-hop DX, their own organic fan base reaches from the hoods of Seattle all the way to Africa. Speaking for Somalians and African immigrants everywhere, MaliMob has learned how to use voice and perspective. While a quick glance over could chalk up their sound to simply “gangster rap,” taken even one scratch deeper will show critics it’s not that easily simplified. Their YouTube comments come in from fans all around the world and there is a positive message within the lyrics of pretty much every song released.
After sitting down for a brief bid, Capo is back with content upon content. In a short period of time he’s released the Mr. Ragu EP, the “Eastside Sluggers” video, the “Patrick Swayze” video, and finally the “Life Like” video. Fans may recognize Capo from the music or may have caught wind of the secret service searching his house and having to clear his “Dum Dum” music video.
