Sam Lachow isn’t fucking around anymore. We got three singles in two months and the entire town can practically hear his next album bumping on the horizon. “Broken Bat” is the newest addition to Lachow’s library and it brings together his likely squad of characters like Milo Eubank, Jake Crocker, and John Martin. Throw in a little Sky Blaow cameo in the music video and you have a real Shankbone vibe. But Lachow brought along MistaDC and Vrillah as well to steal some art dropping one of the filthiest tracks of the year.
Justin Frick helms the video direction and is already one of the most prolific music video directors in the town. Macntaj, Karma Knows, and Travis Thompson are just a few of the artists he’s collaborated with. This video is awesome from the jump; showing Lachow, DC, and the crew planning the art heist of the century.
What do elderly folks throwing wicked dance moves, stealing keys from lackadaisical security guards, and stealing “Lady Sunday” doggo paintings have to do with the song? I don’t know and I don’t care. This whole project is just silly and fun. But I wouldn’t hesitate slapping “Broken Bat” at the next quarantine I’m at.
